Any currently enrolled Mercer student, regardless of type of insurance. Any current Mercer faculty or staff with an urgent care need, as we do not take the place of a primary care provider for them.
Health care visits for acute illnesses and injuries, various immunizations, STI testing, women’s health (excluding IUDs and Nexplanon placement,) health education, primary healthcare if the student has Core Administrative Insurance, mental health visits (by primary care providers, not psychiatrists).
For students, we accept any type of health care insurance. We do bill the student’s health care insurance but do not collect copays. The student is responsible for costs of lab tests and specialty appointments done outside our facility.
For students with Core Administrative Insurance, Campus Health providers are considered their primary care. For students with other health insurances, they can schedule an appointment to discuss our being their primary care.
Yes, at Campus Health, our primary care providers do an initial assessment and will treat patients within the scope of their training. At times, students will need to be referred to a mental health practitioner and/or therapist.
Yes, Mercer faculty and staff can make appointments for urgent care visits only.
What about our campuses where there is not a Campus Health center?
Telehealth visits are available for Mercer students and faculty/staff regardless of their physical location. Our only requirement is that the patient has to be physically located in the state of Georgia at the time of the telehealth visit.
